There is now quite a lot of snow up on the Seegrube thanks to the heavy snowfall this week. The measuring station measures just under 2 meters. Pine slopes to the 3er Stützen lift are well snowed in on the eastern slope. Hafelekar was closed today, but even there it looks like there is a lot of snow in the standard gullies. Descending into the valley would involve a very long walk. Skiing down is only worthwhile as far as the 3-seater support lift.

Some of the south-facing slopes are already covered in snow from the sun. Still powdery snow on more east-facing slopes. However, quickly becoming heavier with the sunlight.

Risks

The Nordkette was completely closed yesterday and the day before yesterday due to the high avalanche risk. The Hafelekar was also closed to winter sports enthusiasts today. You can see why from the pictures. The cirque and the cable car gully consisted only of avalanche cones, with snow slab cracks visible everywhere. the situation should improve in the coming week, at least on the south side, thanks to sunshine and clear nights. However, caution is still advisable until spring conditions prevail.

You don't always need ultra-deep powder to have fun. A few easy descents down to the 3er Stütze, the eastern slope was still in good conditions, and the soft, wet snow also allowed us to make a few jumps with soft landings, but the powder season on the Nordkette is over. However, with spring conditions and the current snow conditions, there will certainly be a few nice firn tours in the future.
