Nordstau auf der Nordkette

Snow condition
In the last 3 days there has been about 90 centimeters of fresh snow on the Seegrube (with settling!) Down at the Hungerburg there was also about 15cm of fresh snow today, with every meter of altitude it got more. We didn't make it up to the Seegrube, as the snow was simply too deep to make tracks. Unfortunately, it thawed out again quite quickly in the lower areas, but with a lot of good will and careful driving it was just about enough to get to the Hungerburg by 11am. However, as everything was bare before the north jam, you can count on carrying points if you want to protect your equipment.
Snow quality
Fluffy fresh snow and not too little. Difficult to ascend/track, top for the descent Below the tree line, hardly any wind influence.
Risks
Below the tree line and on terrain that is not too steep, it is rather low. As we didn't get as far as the Seegrube, I don't know what it looks like at the top, but the considerable amount of fresh snow on the Nordkette and the wind make it difficult to judge.
Overall impression
Where there are usually people jostling for the first gondola and the first lines in the morning, there was nothing going on thanks to the overhaul of the Nordkettenbahnen. So you could powder undisturbed on the 2-person run below the gondola. Tracks were very strenuous due to the deep fresh snow, but became more so with every meter of altitude from the Hungerburg. The descent was a few hundred meters of fantastic, deep powder snow. Further down you had to be more careful not to ruin your equipment. Nevertheless, a relaxed tour on the Nordkette, and in the middle of April!
