Deeper Pow on the Nordkette
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Downhill run possible without any problems and no contact with stones. Around 20cm of fresh snow at Hungerburg. At the top of the Seegrube, the snow conditions were good even before this snowfall. Definitely very cool for mid-December!
Snow quality
At the top of the Seegrube almost half a meter of fluffy fresh snow, down at the Hungerburg it will have been about 20cm.
Risks
In the morning we blasted for 3 hours. LWD also issued a 3 over 1800m. Due to the poor visibility, I couldn't tell whether and how many avalanches had come down as a result of the blasting. Hafelekar was of course closed today. I was only out and about in the forest aisles of the valley run. You should be defensive above the tree line.
Overall impression
Despite the several hours of waiting in the morning, we had a few really great hours on the Nordkette afterwards. Face shots without faketurns and deep powder snow of the best kind. Typically for the Nordkette, after a few hours everything was already completely tracked, but those who were early enough certainly didn't regret it today :D
