Snow condition
Acceptable snow conditions up to the 3-post. The gully goes well without stone contact, the eastern slope anyway. It doesn't make much sense further down at the moment, although the fresh snow makes it look good. Unfortunately, it doesn't reach down into the valley yet, but hopefully that should change soon. The cable car channel at the bottom is also still too rocky.
Snow quality
Super powder snow in the morning, 30cm new without much wind influence. From midday onwards, the steeper south-facing slopes became somewhat heavier, but the southeast remained good.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Loose, unbound powder snow on compact old snow cover. Loose snow slides and possible rock contact are considered more dangerous. A small slab avalanche with a low avalanche thickness was blown up in east-facing terrain.
Avalanche activity
Dry slab avalanche
Altitude: 2200 m
Overall impression
Wonderful day on the Nordkette! Skied up 3 times because it was so good. Hardly any people on the way, as the rewarding slopes (eastern slope and Karrinne) could only be reached with your own muscle power. With better snow conditions, hopefully soon down to the valley.
