Exposition
Snow condition
Two-day ski tour with overnight stay in the Leglerhütte at 2200m. To start at Garichtisee at 1600m, we book the bus from Schwanden to the Mettmen cable car. The descent from the Leglerhütte to the valley station of the cable car at 1027m ends with a lot of stone contact.
Snow quality
In the north and northeast still nice cold powder snow from the last snowfall a week ago. In western exposure, somewhat wind-pressed and less skiable.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Little wind on the Sunnenberg and at the Leglerhütte, only strong near the Chli Kärpf above 2600m.
Overall impression
Due to the cold temperatures, the snow quality is surprisingly good in the north and north-east exposures. Below the Chli Kärpf, the snow is somewhat wind-pressed, but still easy to ski. The journey from Zurich by car or train to Schwanden, from where you have to take the bus to the Mettmen cable car due to a landslide. As a result, there are only a few skiers on the way and there are still some nice descents on slopes with little traffic until the next fresh snowfall. Until then, the sun is shining!
