No more snow in the valley in Appenzell. Ski carrying from about 1200m. I was quite surprised as there is much more snow here in the Allgäu - 50km away as the crow flies. Still plenty on the Säntis, of course.

That was the cruellest thing I've ever ridden. Hard as a board, hard as a rock, pummeling muck snow. Highest risk of falling. I descended a 45 degree slope with crampons and ice axe, which took about an hour....

Either zero stars for skiing or 3 for the experience. We wanted to avoid the crowds on Sunday and do something remote, so without further ado we went up the Säntis. A big mistake, that was the worst I've ever skied together, that's what skiing must be like if you've never done it before. Also interesting what fear a 30 degree ice slope can cause, not to mention 45 degrees. After the summit photo, I forgot to take any photos out of horror at the conditions.
