Snow report Northeastern Switzerland, 01/27/2017
Churfirsten ski tour. Downstairs hui upstairs pfui.
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Below the tree line rather three stars, above one. Upper slopes are totally blown off, in hollows you can at least climb up and ski down. Pretty good below the tree line, you can even release the handbrake without hesitation.
Snow quality
Still surprisingly good at the bottom (north-facing), a bit more difficult as it warms up (compared to yesterday), but still good. The bit at the top is also really bad to ride.
Risks
No alarm signs seen, well set at the bottom, hardly any snow at the top. No drifts seen today.
Overall impression
Found a few good turns at the bottom, even untracked. The skiing at the top was catastrophic, there was a real lack of snow, and I personally give it a third star for the views and the nice company.
