Nothing new - well below average. You can ski north into Toggenburg at 900-1000m, just about. Not on the south side - see photo from Säntis. Maybe one to two centimeters of fresh snow arrived here tonight.

Offside to forget. The Churfirsten always have the problem with the wind and are usually very windswept. I can only remember one time that I was on the last of the Churfirsten - the Selun - when there was good snow... Now, in addition to the wind problem, there is hardly any snow anyway. Either hard snow, ice or pressed powder, or nothing at all. The pistes, on the other hand, are perfectly groomed, no ice, everything is wonderfully grippy for cruising.

Risks

There was nothing worthwhile to be seen off-piste and therefore no danger on the slopes. Otherwise, the tricky threesome also applies here. The peaks shrouded in snow clouds everywhere were impressive - due to the wind, unbelievable snowdrifts are being created at the moment.

Great day on the slopes - on almost empty slopes and that in the high season carnival vacations. Perhaps this is due to the sub-weekday tariff of 59 francs per day in an area the size of 1/3 of Mellau. This entry barrier ensures that the whole thing remains manageable in contrast to the anthill in the Montafon or Arlberg. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth it, but for me it was a great day today with around 15,000 m of skiing.
