Two beautiful touring days in the Lidernenhütte area

Snow condition
Above the gondola (a good 1700 meters) good, I've rarely skied this winter with so few concerns about the snow conditions. The descents back to the valley station of the gondola are fine, but not super material-friendly. Some summit slopes, such as the Roßstock, are completely blown off and can only be reached on foot
Snow quality
Quite good on our runs yesterday. Mostly 10-20cm of lightly capped powder that was easy to ski with a bit of momentum and skill. We thought it would be much worse at the top, so we were very happy :-) Today, due to the warm temperatures and sun yesterday, it was already worse, with a much heavier cover. Still rideable but not a huge pleasure. Very wet below about 1600 meters.
Risks
I didn't find it uncritical. There is an icy layer underneath the fresh snow pack and the fresh snow is heavily packed. We skied slopes up to 35 degrees, nothing steeper. The blown-off summit slopes are also not to be underestimated, crampons would have been nice, it's pretty icy.
Overall impression
All in all a very nice weekend, skiing OK but no highlight. Met a PG colleague in the parking lot, he can tell us about powder thanks to his local knowledge ;-)
