The Chäppeliberg-Spilau cable car is a must once a year. Snow conditions at the valley station (1200m above sea level) were still very good and it was easy to ski down to the valley station. From 1800m there is a whole load more lying around. Some of the alpine pastures are covered in snow up to the roof.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

It was a warm day today, but the sun and foehn storm did not affect the snow quality in the morning. If you chose your route with foresight, you could still get some nice powder on the north side.

Risks

SLF issued a 2 with a special warning for drifting snow. The drift snow packs were more than clearly recognizable and were quickly released by individual winter sports enthusiasts on slopes above 35 degrees.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Chäppeliberg-Spilau is always a worthwhile destination, not only because of the nostalgic train but also because of the great panorama of Lake Lucerne and the relaxed atmosphere on the mountain. It got a bit crowded at the end, but by then we were already on our way back down.....

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
