Snow condition
It's still quite warm (around 0 degrees), but at least there was about 10-15 cm of fresh snow over the week, which is enough to cover the bare ice from the rainfall a week ago. Down below it's still quite scarce (50 cm in Tromso), further up there's more. Today's strong winds have shifted quite a bit.
Snow quality
Less intoxicating. It was a bit better than last week and there were even slight hints of powder in the trees, but there was a nasty wind, rain and whatnot at the top. Less nice to ride.
Risks
According to the LLB a 3, which I would also confirm. The storm has deposited the fresh snow of the last few days in the lee, where you should be extremely careful. The weak layer from before Christmas is also still causing problems, so friends of mine triggered an avalanche in 35° steep terrain 20 km east of Tromsø, fortunately without any injuries. The avalanche height was 1m. Various groups on FB have also been full of warnings and avalanche pictures over the last week. It's best to stay in flat terrain as long as it stays this warm.
Overall impression
Quite nice, there was also sun for an hour. Unfortunately, the snow quality is still very poor. Heavy snowfall has been announced for next week.
