Snow condition
Even though Varsom.no indicates that the snow conditions for Kvaløya are still slightly below average, it is absolutely no problem to ski to the sea without fine contact (parking lot approx. 50 cm). Ridge and crests still quite blown off, hollows well filled (>1m)
Snow quality
Great, there was another 5 cm of fresh snow and the "old" snow is still fluffy.
Risks
Still a triple and with the storm coming up shortly after midday so far > 15 cm of fresh snow and the associated drifts.
Overall impression
Super beginner tour, even for ski tour beginners. Quite a flat story, but nice cruising and a great view of the sea and Tromsøya at the start. Around 12 noon, a bad weather front hit and we had to turn around between the radio station and the summit. Quite a blizzard into the evening.
