Snow condition
Still perfect, on Sunday and yesterday there was another 20-30 cm of the finest powder down to the sea. At the sea there is one, from 500m easily 2-3m, rather more.
Snow quality
Nice cold and fluffy fresh snow on soft old snow, so the whole thing is fun Only a bit more difficult in the lower part of the descent due to the sun at noon (yes, "spring" is slowly arriving up here too)
Risks
We didn't see or notice anything really worrying on the way up and Varsom.no reports a 2. Shortly before the summit, where it then goes into the 30-35°, we dug a snow profile and were able to make out an unsightly layer with pronounced surface frost at a depth of around 50 cm. We then took a much flatter route over the ridge to the summit and also descended from there. On the way home, we were able to observe wet snow slides on the steep south-facing slopes for the first time this season.
Overall impression
Very cool day once again in bright sunshine. Maybe even one of the best up here so far. A little safer conditions then the 5th star is due.
