Snow condition
Really good, there's still almost nothing to complain about. Except for a few ridges that are quite blown off and sometimes not quite a meter by the sea. Generally speaking, there is more snow further west (Kvaløya, Ringvassøya etc.) than inland (Tromsø Mainland, Lyngen).
Snow quality
A dream. Even the Norwegians say that they've only rarely experienced powder as fine as that at the beginning of the week up here. Still wonderfully fluffy today at Storsteinnestinden, while below 400m at Blåtinden the sun was already warming up yesterday. Just under 5 stars. Unfortunately, with the rising temperatures this will soon be over...
Risks
Pretty sure the whole story. The fresh snow (40cm on Kvaløya, 20 Tromsø Mainland) has bonded well with the old snow and potential weak layers are now very deep (
Overall impression
Wonderful, it couldn't be better! One really good day after another since last Thursday... Unfortunately it's getting warmer now and the fresh snow is supposed to turn into rain during the night here in Tromsø.
