Snow condition
As it has been between 5 and 10 degrees plus since Friday and it has rained a bit from time to time, quite a lot has melted away... By the skin of my teeth it's still possible to reach the sea on the south side of Ringvassøya, which was much better at the end of February. There is still a lot of snow at the top (2-3m), but the rocks are always peeking out, especially on the back. Still 3 stars.
Snow quality
Slush or partly frin below 500m, which is great to ride. Above that, unfortunately, it's something between crushed harsh snow, ice-rain crust and massive windy turns, which are less fun...
Risks
Varsom reports a 2, which I would also agree with. We haven't observed anything, but I would avoid steep south-facing slopes.
Overall impression
Hajo, that was a nice way to (temporarily) conclude our little Norway adventure after this wonderful last week! More from Tromsø in mid-May, now it's off to look for winter on Spitsbergen
