Report of the first week Lofoten bike crossing. Westlofoten Å to Svolvær.

Snow condition
Much more snow than this time last year. As always, increasing from west to east. Nine days ago, a thin blanket of old snow, quite uniform from bottom to top, characterized the picture in the west. Then there was heavy rain over the whole area, sometimes very high up. East of Leknes, however, even that couldn't take everything away and you can still get down to 0 m, except in the open western coastal areas. The last few days there have been repeated snow showers and on the mountains around Svolvær there is beautiful powder.
Snow quality
We've actually had them all on our 6 ski tours so far. Ice, slush, wind cover, compact powder, rain crust and - the highlight so far - 400 meters of bottomless dream powder on the descent from Geitgallen, which fell during the ascent.
Risks
The rain phase was once briefly hot, now only drift snow in the eastern sector plays a role; and the beginning of gliding snow on the south. Very steep things are being done.
Overall impression
Lots of (weather) luck made the first third of our #expedalition a sure-fire success. Let's hope it continues like this.
