Started from Simmerberg (Steibis) at 900 m. Closed snow cover from the parking lot. On the ascent to the Fluh via the Rotzgraben there were stones from time to time. So we descended via the Steibis ski slopes. Here is nice mogul terrain with occasional grass contact if you don't get out of the way. On the south side in the steep terrain, it slowly but steadily pits out.

It's still powdery in many places thanks to the northerly exposure and the low temperatures. Below around 1000 m, the snow is slightly heavier. Above 1000 m, the powder snow in open terrain is very blown in places. And grasses and thistles appear. In other places, it is ski-pole deep on a small scale.

Risks

With this! Tour and snow depth not so relevant at the moment. At higher altitudes, you will have to wait until the drift snow settles in the remaining skiable snow fields...because most of the ridges and crests are quite bare. And the snow in between is heavily packed and also not nice to ski on

Overall impression

The snow conditions are difficult...I wouldn't say that nothing is possible, but it's not much either. A great opportunity to rediscover the grassy mountains around the corner. Ski tours with grassy ground are recommended. You can see the Hochlitten lift running across the border towards the Bregenz Forest. I would never have thought I would want to be in a ski area with 2 tows so much...it's about time the powder god put his foot down and poured the trowel into the Alps from the north.
