Snow condition

wow - the storm and rain have done a great job. in the valleys at around 800m, all that's left is about 10cm of compacted, soaking wet snow. at 1200m maybe 40cm and in the summits of the western allgäu at 18-1900m about 60cm. it rained here too...

Snow quality

subterraneanly bad. soaking bad, cruel, beastly bad...

Risks

there's hardly any snow left at lower altitudes, so not much should happen there, except perhaps mudslides, see photo, unbelievable and that in January... in higher regions, it's certainly even more critical. here, both sliding snow and drifting snow are likely to be an issue.

Overall impression

1 von 5 Sterne

after a brilliant week in central switzerland and the anticipation of seeing good conditions in the allgäu now this. really cruel. a winter dream is created within 3-4 days and then destroyed again in just over a day...and the prospects are bad...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
