Snow report Oberstdorf, 01/06/2018
Super firn at the top and slush at the bottom on Buralpkopf and Sedererstuiben.

Snow condition
Still OK, but no longer sparkling. The hiking trail out at the bottom has enough snow. In the steep south-facing mountain forest, there are large patches of snow, but you can get around them to some extent on the ascent and descent. On the descent you can't see some grassy steps in the forest aisles, which is a bit nasty (see last picture). Above the forest, carefree skiing was possible, but there wasn't much snow either.
Snow quality
Great firn above the Gatteralpe! We left at 12:30 from the Buralpkopf (south and south-east side) and shortly after 14:00 from the Sedererstuiben (south-west side). Below the Gatteralpe then deep swamp, for good skiers it was skiable, but very strenuous.
Risks
Many sliding snow slides of the last few days and weeks could be seen. For example, the south-facing basin below Sedererstuiben and Stuiben has been largely cleared out. Due to the wet snow cover, there is certainly still a risk of snow slides, but we didn't see anything fresh today.
Overall impression
On the ascent in the forest in slushy snow, I was skeptical about how it would be today... But in the end it was a great day with two great descents, two new peaks for me and very spring-like weather with almost no wind :-) All in all, it felt very much like March/April in the Allgäu today.
