Exposition
Snow condition
In the valley 15 cm of powder snow on no base or 5-10 cm of old snow crust on the north side, above 1500 meters 20 to 30 cm of powder snow on hard snow (30-40 cm), descents through the forest no longer possible. Downhill runs only on pistes or off-piste only with ground contact
Snow quality
visually beautiful everything freshly snow-covered in detail 15-30 cm of cold powder snow on a hard crust
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Altitude: 1300 m – 2100 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Fresh snow on hard snow with westerly winds - the 15-30 cm of fresh snow was deposited on hard snow. Above the tree line, these can easily be disturbed. The problem is also the hard old snow breaks lurking under powder snow.
Overall impression
Visually nice and wintry again. The powder snow above 1700 meters is enough for some nice turns. Weather forecasts promise a few more centimetres over the next few days
