Exposition
Snow condition
The bottom line is very thin, the mountain pines peek out. We follow the forest road down into the valley. There was no rock contact in the cirques at the top, the ridges are enormously blown off.
Snow quality
Still really fine, settled powder on the shady slopes. The sunny sides offer only crushed snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
We have triggered a small fresh snow slab in an east-facing hollow. The fresh drift snow (probably from today) lies on the soft old snow surface.
Overall impression
There is still a lot to be gained on the shady slopes, regardless of how much it snows now.
