Snow report Oberstdorf, 01/21/2018
Supplement Sunday POW
Oberstdorf
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
From 1000 - 1200 HM very good. Below that it quickly becomes less
Snow quality
Varying - Above 1200-1400 the conditions were good to super 20-50 fresh snow, partly compact but great for skiing. Below 1200 meters the snow cover was already wet and heavy.
Risks
Very very delicate. Only tours up to the tree line (1600-1700 hm) and in the safe area possible. Snow always came with a lot of wind. Also repeatedly accompanied by sleet showers. Danger of snow slabs.
Overall impression
Nice runs in selected areas. The fun factor increased with the right kind of middle biting under the binding. Unfortunately, the fun was ruined again on Monday by a warm front.
