i was out today, on the north side, below the tree line. there is an above-average amount of snow. no obstacles or sharks caught.
Snow quality
on the north side, in areas sheltered from the wind, still pow. it is well set and relatively heavy, but still easy to ride. on the south side, from midday onwards, it is more of a deep swamp.
Risks
sliding snow (see last picture) is and remains the dominant theme. otherwise, on the north side, despite relatively high temperatures, the snow cover is quite stable. today it was also >40° without triggering any major slides.
Overall impression
brilliant tour. all alone in the area and quite impressive perspectives. goes on even longer. re-evaluate with the predicted rain. i suspect that the still good pow will then get a cap.
