green meadow in hinterstein. road to giebelhaus free of snow. from giebelhaus, approx. 20cm of snow. all routes into the various valleys are possible on skis, including the descent. some of the streams are free and only passable on foot. at high altitudes, sometimes up to more than 2m of snow, no longer measurable by probe. up to more than 2m of snow, no longer measurable by probe. overnight today there was up to 30cm of fresh snow above 1500m, including a lot of sleet. no shark caught all week and except for blown-off areas, free choice of route is possible without restriction.

generally still good pow on the snow side. in the sun (= east over south, up to southwest) very heavy pow today, up to about 1400m, below that it's more likely to be slush. will certainly be capped tomorrow.

Risks

the bavarian lawi fits. below 2000m rather safe. above that a lot of drifting snow. we have also seen a rather large crack edge from a snow slab at the top of the ridge.

great week, with a bit of everything. mo, di, very warm. mi storm with about 20cm of fresh snow. thu. great pow, then very warm again in the afternoon, with lots of loose snow slides on all sunny slopes. then storm again and up to 30cm of fresh snow today. very sunny again from midday and wind picking up in the ridges, with extensive snow plumes. then spring again in the valley. if it wasn't so warm, you could give it a four. tomorrow will be def. worse.
