Snow condition
For more than 3 months now, you can ski down to the valley at 850m without interruption - on the north side. The snow conditions are not plentiful but still sufficient. Forest is limited.
Snow quality
5 cm of snow on a very hard surface, some of it icy. The easterly wind had been blowing snow all the days before, the wind-facing sides were completely blown out down to the snow cover. There was some powder in areas sheltered from the wind.
Risks
quite safe the last few days, too little snow on the compact old snow cover, despite loads. at least up to the summit of the high ridge = 1850m.
Overall impression
Despite the moderate snow quality, the north side of the high ridge is always good - at least I always enjoy it here no matter what because it's simply a challenge. In terms of snow, however, it's not exhilarating, but even the very steep lines went beyond 50 degrees. I've skied all possible and impossible lines here over the years, only the orange one is still missing, at least the top 40m=circle marking, which I've had to abseil down the few times I've been able to get in here, the dream would be to ski it free at some point, but so far the conditions have never allowed it, but who knows...
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
