start: expo-s, 09h, 1050hm, -3°C, approx. 20cm of fresh snow, overnight. underneath a layer of old snow.consistently good pow until below the tree line.
Snow quality
for expo-s, it was cold until noon and the snow remained loose. then it became heavier and heavier and was already slightly capped in the shade. in all other expos it remained very good pow, which fell with relatively little wind influence.
Risks
quite safe below the forest line. no cracks, noises, snow planks and also, except for pure south, no big loose snow slides seen. the new snow holds very well on the old snow. also in 40° terrain. quite little sluff.
Overall impression
great winter day, there haven't been that many of them so far.
I was in the right place at the right time today. free choice of lines possible without restrictions. I would have given it a fourth star if it hadn't become so brutally warm again on the south side. reassess after the rain tomorrow.
