Snow report Oberstdorf, 03/06/2015

Snow condition
Just rideable up to the parking lot, in the gullies it was good, but only if no avalanche had occurred beforehand. Then there were only a few centimetres of the last few days on the grass.
Snow quality
There was something of everything. The further north and further up, the better. Settled powder was still often to be found. Unfortunately, there were also concrete-hard avalanche cones.
Risks
Made a fairly stable impression. The danger was more of slipping on icy sections. At the end of the gullies there were some huge avalanche cones from the last major snowfall.
Overall impression
I tried to climb directly up the north-facing slope and let the snow quality be my guide. That's why I stopped at 1400m. It would only have made sense to go further with crampons and ice axe. Now I've explored the area a bit, next time I'll go up the outside and down the north slope.
