Snow condition

We started at the bottom of the Fellhornbahn, this morning there was about 10-15cm of fresh snow and the piste had also had snow before that. In the afternoon, from 1200m upwards, larger patches of grass appeared. From the bottom of the piste it will probably be a while before we reach 900m, away from there it looks bleak, but further up, from about 1400m there is still a good base and above that there was about 20-25cm of fresh powder.

Snow quality

Fresh pow that was really nice and fluffy. Underneath you had the hard-formed layer from the days before. But you rarely come across it. It was really easy to ride :)

Completely uncritical at the bottom, but at the top you could already see a few loose snow avalanches in the steep terrain. We were briefly on a south-facing slope at lunchtime today and the snow was pretty damn heavy.

Overall impression

A dream day - fresh pow and sunshine. It really put us in a good mood, even if the crowds were naturally drawn outside today.
Broken snow has already formed on the sunny slopes this afternoon, so it won't be so much fun over the next few days (you can see this quite clearly in the second picture). On the north side it could be good for longer.
