Snow condition
The south-facing approach from Holzgau up to the Roßgumpenalm at 1,329 meters has several potholes, the longest is before the Sims waterfalls where skis have to be carried 200-300 meters. From the Roßgumpenalm there is enough snow throughout. The summit slope of the Krottenkopf had significantly more snow at the same time last year, but you can still ski down there all the way.
Snow quality
Super firn on the sunny side with good timing. On the north side it varies between super powder (very rare, we only found it on one slope in 3 days) to very settled powder and barely skiable broken harsh cover.
Risks
It gets wet really early on the sunny side. The summit slope of the Muttlerkopf, for example, was already too wet rather than too hard at half past nine in the morning. On the north side, everything we skied made a very good impression, we skied slopes with 40 degrees or more in almost all exposures, and with the right timing it all seemed safe.
Overall impression
Fantastic weather, mostly great snow and very impressive scenery
