Overall impression
Snow condition
up to oytalhaus the road is cleared black. after that, up to 500m, there is a continuous snow cover, with absolutely sufficient thickness. only the roof of the käseralpe looks out.
Snow quality
it didn't freeze through overnight, not even at the very top at 2,300m. the descent was correspondingly modest. the ascent was rather difficult because you broke in every now and then. at the bottom of the valley, on the other hand, there was already good summer snow.
Risks
above the crossing to the käseralpe road, there is still unloaded gliding snow. this is not visible from the bottom of the valley. watch out, when i was through it was plowing, about 9.30 in the morning. this is an east-facing slope. otherwise everything made a very good impression. even in places where you broke in, nothing could be triggered in the >40° terrain.
Overall impression
I would wait with the tour. then the flat passage will be shorter, because you can cycle longer and the sliding snow slides may have gone down. by the way, the crossing is quite "tricky". you have to cross a huge avalanche cone. this is completely covered with dirt. at the lowest edge there is only a very steep, narrow drop-off to walk. sometimes quite exciting, if hard.
