The ski touring season in the Allgäu is coming to an end. A few classics are still possible with bike/hike and touring skis. These include Gamswanne / Gr. Wilder i'm Hintersteiner Tal. By bike to the end of the valley. There at approx. 1500-1600 meters start on skis.
Snow quality
Fine summer snow - really nice to ride. The one or other small ground / stone contact is possible.
Risks
Many avalanches and cornices have already come down there. Some of them massive. An early start to the tour is mandatory.
Overall impression
6 months on a ski tour in the Allgäu Alps. A good winter season in the Allgäu Alps is now coming to an end. Super nice hours in the snow and on the mountain were the result. Tried out a few new variants. Pictures (c) Martin Hoelle / Photography
