Snow condition
It starts above 1200 meters. Continuous snow cover 20 cm - up to 50 cm. A little more depending on the expo. Some ski resorts in the Allgäu started the 2016/17 season yesterday.
Snow quality
Set powder
Risks
A few ground snow avalanches broke loose on steep grassy slopes - the wind also brought in a few disturbances
Overall impression
Pleasantly surprised - good music plays from 1400 meters. Below that, the snow cover quickly diminishes. A good start - let's see how far the base lasts into the season. The typical ski touring grassy slopes were well frequented by ski tourers wearing helmets. Early in the morning it was nice to find some retro skiers (stone skiers) on the ascent. But with a few more meters of running and skinning up several times, you could still harvest good powder slopes with nice turns.
