Snow report Oberstdorf, 12/06/2014
There was nothing but a little powdered sugar in the form of snow above 1000 meters. Opening of the Oberstdorf / Kleinwalsertal ski resorts postponed by a week due to lack of base.
Oberstdorf
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
A few centimetres from 1500 m above sea level, only a thin layer of snow from 2000 m above sea level. But not enough for skiing so far
Snow quality
a few centimeters in the last few days
Risks
far too little snow for any avalanche activities.
Overall impression
The ski resorts want to start the 2014 / 15 ski season with a lot of confidence. With cold temperatures next week, the aim is to create a sufficient foundation on the slopes with the help of artificial snow. Until then, we will wait / hike and drink (summit) tea in the Allgäu...
