Today on the way in the Ostrachtal - start on skis at 1000 m / 10 -15 cm but only a thin layer on the mountain 2000 m about 30 - 40 cm but still too little. Ground contact again and again. Actually, only from 1700 meters with devious track choice are a few nice turns to harvest.
Snow quality
It's a bit of a spring - in the mornings it's a firm top to a bad crumbling harsch - towards midday it's soft and slushy but quite funny to ski in places.
Risks
As usual - danger from little snow-covered rocks.
Overall impression
Beautiful day on the mountain but not enough snow. You get used to getting by with little snow. The bike ride to the Giebelhaus early in the morning was extremely
interesting. Road icy ..... Spikes give you a bit more safety in such conditions.
