Snow condition

Everything is green in the valley, but it turns white pretty quickly towards Grasgehren. From Monday to Tuesday there was about 15-20cm of fresh snow here. We were able to start the tour to the Riedbergerhorn at 1400m without any problems.

Snow quality

The snow quality was great, cold and powdery. Due to the warming and the sunlight, the fresh snow got a light crust in the afternoon. You could tell that it had rained the days before, the surface had an unpleasant crust, so you should ski with the handbrake on.

Risks

We were able to observe a gliding snow avalanche (south side), otherwise I had a good feeling. Below 2000m the LLB gave a 2, which I would confirm.

On an (actually) busy tour, it was pretty relaxed today. So you could also ski your own line in the afternoon.
Conclusion.... a great day with fresh snow and a cozy Christmas tour

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
