Snow condition
The few centimetres that fell on Friday don't make the snow situation any better. It's just enough to go ski touring without major problems if you're on the north side from an altitude of 1000m. On average, it's pretty poor compared to the last few years.
Snow quality
The snow was very solid today. The 20 cm of fresh snow in the upper part was loose and fine. Overall, little wind influence. On the tour, which generally runs in a sheltered northerly exposure, only a few meters had a very light wind cover. At lower altitudes, the snow became heavier in the afternoon due to the spring temperatures.
Risks
Actually quite relaxed (level TWO) and the few danger spots were very clearly visible. On the descent, however, we could see a 30 meter + snow slab with an edge of 30 cm +. This was either the group in front of us or a spontaneous descent. There were tracks in the descent and we searched the avalanche cone without "finding" anything. Estimated information on the descent: north exposure with max. 35° in the crack area, sparse forest, the descent exposed a mountain pine field.
Overall impression
A beautiful day and solid snow conditions! This winter, we're already happy with less.
