Snow report Obertauern, 01/15/2014

Etwas Neuschnee, leider zu wenig, um alte Spuren richtig abzudecken.

It snowed a little last night, but not much more than 5cm. It's easily enough to be able to ski off-piste, but caution is advised in places as not all the stones/rocks are covered.

Well. Some of the new snow has been blown away by the wind, but the quality has not suffered. However, the thin layer of new snow is not enough to sufficiently cover the old tracks or the older, already hard layer of snow. If you find a line where nobody has skied in the last few days, you can enjoy pretty good powder, but it's not fluffy madness. The snow hasn't bonded very well with the older layer, small clods have come loose, which in terms of height correspond roughly to the amount of new snow.

Risks

LWS 2 - is appropriate.

It's still far better in Obertauern than in some other areas in eastern Austria, we also had a fun day, but it was far from epic.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
