Snow condition
Except for the last few meters below the summit and a few blown-off spots, a sufficient base to ski on. Snow right down into the valley to Tweng (1250) with rare and mostly avoidable rock contacts.
Snow quality
Above 2000m the wind influence of the last days and weeks can be felt, in the N-NE oriented summit slope there was a uniform 10-20cm thick layer of drift snow which was well bonded to the ground. Below 2000m to 1300-1400m there is 20-30cm of powder in the shady exposures. Below 1300-1400m, the powder slowly became moist during the course of the day due to the warming.
Risks
The LLB contains all the important points. The biggest "evil" is the abundant drift snow above 1800m in leeward areas. This is already beginning to bond with the ground but should still be treated with caution.
Overall impression
After a heavily wind-affected ski tour yesterday on the Preber, today's tour was a pleasant surprise for us all. The snow was less affected by the wind and more even to ski on. Below 2000m, it was even possible to make beautiful powder turns in the sparse larch forest.
