Exposition
Snow condition
Actually very good, if it weren't for the many blown-off areas. In total, probably 25-30 cm of fresh snow from the last two days.
Snow quality
As expected, not as good as yesterday. The north side, where it was reasonably sheltered from the wind, was still the best.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
As always this season, there were massive wind signs in the terrain where I have never seen them before. There was no avalanche activity to be seen in the classic freeride terrain. Drift snow only came loose behind the edges of the terrain, where you would have expected it. What was unpleasant were the hard spots that appeared somewhat unexpectedly, where you quickly realized whether you had done the last edge service conscientiously.
Overall impression
In the morning, the poor visibility and wind-pressed snow meant that there was no real joy (2*). However, the runs in the sunny afternoon in the (largely) wind-protected northern sector did trigger some euphoria (4*). All in all, a pretty good 3* freeride day! Tomorrow you can certainly get some very good runs with skins if you know where there was little wind.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
