Snow condition

It's spring and you can tell. In the valley, there is no longer any closed snow cover, although you can still reach the valley well in most exposures, but not everywhere, and good snow conditions up to a little above the tree line, although this is nowhere near comparable to that further north. Further up, the wind has a strong influence and sometimes entire slopes are blown away. It's particularly nasty that the fresh snow has fallen with little wind and so it's very easy to hit stones on the ridges and crests, and if a bit more snow were to go away I'd only give it 2 stars.

There was a good 10cm of fresh snow at 2400m, but it is relatively heavy. That's why it's easy to ski, especially in areas that are a little blown in, as you can't get through all the time. Nevertheless, it's just not enough, below 2000m you're skiing on a mostly hard surface, further down the valley it's only rained and there's mud.

Risks

I wouldn't consider it critical, as there was simply very little fresh snow. You have to be careful as soon as it gets a little warmer, lots of wet snow both above and below the snow line.

Overall impression

Less fresh snow than I had hoped for, but it was worse.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
