On the north side you can reach the valley without coming into contact with rocks, but you have to look a bit.
Snow quality
Firn and wet powder. There is about 5-10cm of wind-worked snow left from the weekend. In the morning it's hardpack, in the late morning it's firn.
Risks
Watch out for breaking cornices, chunks of ice and snow!
Overall impression
The weather couldn't have been better. Clear, cold night and even at midday the temperature at the summit was around 0 degrees.
