Snow condition

There is about 20 to 35 cm of snow in the Obertauern wind corridor. As there was a strong to stormy wind today too, the amount of snow is very difficult to estimate. Windward exposures are pretty much blown out. Off-piste skiing is out of the question at the moment! There are no stone contacts on the slopes.

Snow quality

1 von 5 Sterne

The slopes were very grippy and nice to ski on in the morning. There is a mix of artificial and natural snow on the slopes. The natural snow away from the slopes would be of a fine quality, but it is clearly not enough.

Risks

The amount of snow is still quite small and the main hazards are stones/rocks. However, the stormy winds are transporting some snow to the leeward exposures, where there is certainly already some snow in hollows.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Well, skiing on the slopes is better than nothing and the sun also made an appearance. Hopefully the upcoming Azores high will be short-lived and hopefully more precipitation will come soon.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
