Carried all the way to the Hochjochhospiz, from there another 2 hours the next morning towards Weisskugel. Glockturm from Kaunertaler Gletscherstrasse still looked good from above yesterday. To the Vernagthütte you carry up to about 100m below the hut. Descent today from the Wildspitze via Rofenkarferner with almost continuous snow to the Stablein middle station. Underneath there are always shorter snow fields on the old piste. In total approx. 300m carried to Vent.

Jelly snow

Something of almost everything. Real powder only on shady and wind-protected slopes. Otherwise, on shady slopes it's more likely to be crushed slush or powder with a noticeable cap. Everything that gets a lot of sun becomes soft at the top during the course of the day. Better to ski at lower altitudes, as the snow is already more transformed there and therefore less likely to sink in. Descent from the Guslarspitzen e.g. yesterday at 5 pm fantastic 🙂 Snow overall very pleasant to walk on ridges and steep transitions.

Risks

Diurnal warming
North North-Eas South

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

Beautiful spring conditions, well frozen every night and softened during the day. In our opinion, daytime warming is not critical apart from very steep slopes.

Worse

Super alpine touring conditions, but difficult to reach at the bottom due to little snow. Hopefully that wasn't the end of my season, but if it was, it was a very worthy one 🙂
