Variations of snow cover

On the slopes, it is still just possible to ski down and up from and into the valley. Just about. Off the slopes, longer stretches of snow depending on the exposure. From midday, deep snow up to over 3000m except in purely northerly exposures. Attention avalanche danger! Powder or light cover to the north between 3100 and 3500 m. In some places, the snow cover at 3000 m was still not worn at 5 am

Jelly snow

At the very top, there is still powder on the north side and in the shade. In all other exposures, great firn can be found on very early descents. A very early start is absolutely necessary to minimize risk

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Powder with very large crystals on the surface on the north side in the shade. Don't underestimate the danger situation with the fresh snow last night. Otherwise a typical spring situation. The early bird has the better snow and is safer.

Worse

Outstandingly good conditions for mid-May! Powder at the very top on the snow side. Great firn descents possible with good timing. Depending on the tour, long carrying passages or descents on the pistes down to the valley are possible.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
