Avalanche warning level

moderate (2)

Exposition

North North-West

Snow condition

15 cm fresh snow

Above the tree line ok, in the forest extremely tight, in the valley practically aper. The hard surface prevents worse, but you still have to watch out for stones further up and roots etc. towards the forest.

Powder snow

Super light and fluffy powder, unfortunately on a very hard base. As there is a maximum of 20cm of fresh snow, that's nice, but you hit the hard surface with almost every turn.

Risks

Old snow problem
West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

I would describe the avalanche risk as relatively relaxed as the fresh snow is mostly really unbound. However, there are drifts in the ridge areas, so you have to be careful here. The hard crust is certainly a good gliding layer. Of course, the old snow problem has not disappeared into thin air and still needs to be taken into account.

Overall impression

Equal

Nice, even if 10 cm more fresh snow or a soft base would have improved the situation even more.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
