Snow condition
Not much needs to be said, still above average.
Snow quality
Capped and hard on the south side. Better on the north and east sides. Mostly powder, but also partly capped and influenced by wind.
Risks
Still relatively safe in my eyes. Let's see how it develops over the next few days. We were able to observe the crystals on the surface mentioned in the avalanche warning service blog post a few times. Otherwise, lots of mouths. The cornice at the summit of the Quellspitze has a massive crack and probably won't hang there much longer (see pictures).
Overall impression
All in all a great day with great weather. First we skied down the south side of the Quellspitze, which was not so fantastic to ski, but also not the main goal of the day. In the afternoon we skied a north-west facing gully. Gladly more!
