Snow condition

Quite decent, but the valleys and the lower-lying forest are still getting scarce. South-facing slopes are bare up to a good 1200m. Above the tree line, especially in the summit areas, the snow cover is still very uneven and strongly influenced by the wind. Here you still have to be very careful not to drive onto stones.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

About 10 cm of fresh snow above 1500 m, above the tree line with strong wind influence, unfortunately it has apparently rained briefly, so there is a layer of broken snow directly underneath, at least on the north side where it would normally still be soft. In other exposures it is completely hard under the fresh snow, not completely terrible, but overall at least twice as much fresh snow would have been necessary.

Risks

Relatively relaxed, but snow was also transported during the course of the day, especially at higher altitudes, so you have to watch out for drift snow. It was also quite warm, which is why you have to watch out for wet snow on sunny slopes.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Somehow quite nice, but more fresh snow would have been great.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
