Snow condition
When digging 2 snow profiles (at approx. 2500m), we encountered 3m (on the north side) and then another 1.7m (on the west side), and the snow conditions are absolutely sufficient for ski tours. Although there are blown-off areas, these are only terrain crests and edges. You can easily avoid them.
Snow quality
Powder is hardly to be found and when it is, it's on the north side in shady high altitudes, with alternating stable, wind and/or hard snow cover. it's spring and therefore firn and slush time. With the right timing, perfect spring conditions can be found!!!
Risks
Quite relaxed. There is a very thick (approx. 0.5 m) weak layer of built-up snow close to the ground. However, this is very difficult to release. The recently formed drift snow packs are thin, mostly capped and difficult to release. With the right timing, it's pretty safe.
Overall impression
Very beautiful firn descents are possible. Steeper and more extreme things are also possible. On Sat. 25.03. the Fluchthorn was climbed on skis from the south. Looked pretty good from the Breite Krone
.The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
