Snow report Paznaun Valley, 04/25/2015
Pisten bolzen in Ischgl - wenn sonst nix mehr geht rund ums Skigebiet, holt man halt wieder mal den GS Ski raus.

Snow condition
It is possible to ski down into the valley, but many of the slopes that are not purely north-facing are already quite worn out. Some of the pistes are also closed. The valley runs are still open, but that won't last much longer. Stones are already coming through on some of the high, sun-exposed pull trails. However, the pistes up to Idalp and Höllboden are still really fun!
Snow quality
No fresh snow for too long and too warm. There's no more powder. But those who like firn could still find it, as it had apparently frozen through overnight. The slopes will still be good and hard tomorrow. Up to the middle station it was still quite usable until shortly after midday. Further down it was slush, but not too bad to ski.
Risks
According to LLB 2, a typical spring situation, whereby the last snowfall was some time ago and many of the wet snow avalanches have already left. Relatively easy to deal with: be early! Then you should have everything under control.
Overall impression
For a Sunday, there was really not much going on and as there was nothing left to do on the slopes apart from firn tours, and the pistes were still in good shape, it made perfect sense to cover a few vertical meters on the secured pistes. On the well-frozen slopes in the morning, you can test whether your thighs have grown over the winter and the slush that started around midday was great fun! The pistes in the ski area will definitely hold out until the end of the season and if winter returns next week, there will still be plenty of base further up!
