There is enough snow at the top for the official routes, but 30-50cm is still missing to be able to ski everything in the area. Towards Malfontal it is easily sufficient.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Basically good, north and northwest either windy or blown in on the descent from the Alblittkopf. On the ascent towards the Kapplerjoch, it was pretty much anything but bare ice, so extremely changeable.

Risks

As there was a lot of wind, the snow cover seemed relatively stable. Only the fresh snow from Saturday or drift snow was scattered as a loose layer between Kreuzjochspitze and Riffelspitze, a very steep slope had gone down and we also avoided a few avalanche cones from the ridges on Kappler Joch.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Well done, downhill conditions in an easterly direction better than (north)westerly, at the bottom the top layer is already heavy in the sun, certainly won't get any better in the next few days. Comfortable day tour with a not too demanding ascent, but hopefully next time we'll be heading up the high Riffler!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
